ACHOLI PROVINCE SUSPENDS HEAD COACH, CAPTAIN.

Komakech the interim head coach of Acholi Province

During a meeting called and chaired by the Chairperson Acholi province Mr. Bernard Loum yesterday 21st September 2022 involvong the board, management and the coaching staff to resolve the allegations arising from the players, the province board came up with very drastic decisions.

According to sources within the board, the meeting that was held at Convenant Hotel, Gulu was over the claims by players that there was mismanagement of the Province’s resources.

The players had demanded that with immediate effect, a few of the managers must step down in the positions of the Chairperson Loum Benard, Otema Eric the province finance and Alexander Okidi who is serving as a province media officer.

However in the turn of events unfolding from the meeting, services of Akena Geoffrey head coach, Okot Denis Oola also known as Zemba team captain and a player for Calvary FC and the kits manager were no longer needed.

Acholi province hosted Buganda province on the 11th September 2022 at kitgum boma ground for there first leg quarter final of Fufa Drum third edition winning by 2-1.

Acholi province managed to be the champions in the second edition when they won against Bukedea province on penalty shootout under the leadership of Geoffrey Akena who has now been suspended.

The board as well appointed Komakech Raymond Timothy as a caretaker manager as the matter of the suspended people are being investigated.

Komakech is currently working as a head coach of Ndejje University and will now lead Acholi province to the second leg against Buganda province on the 9th October 2022 at Lweero Stadium for his first game as Acholi province caretaker manager
