7 senior secretaries on spot for misappropriation of over 139million

Seven senior assistant secretaries in Pallisa district have gone into hiding since 15/09/2022 for allegedly misappropriating shs.139,880,000 in the sub counties they work last financial year 2021/2022.

The Pallisa Resident District Commissioner Magidu Dhikusoka who allerted the Minister of Presidency, Anti-corruption agencies and Office of the Inspector General of Government said of the seven only Amboise Orone of Obutet sub county handed himself to police and made a statement currently being held for further investigation.

Dhikusoka said another underground investigation is on for security agents who instead of arresting the suspects tip them.

“I can’t give shelter to any individual who engages in corruption because they make service delivery hit a hard end”, he said.

The unearthing of the allegation prompted Donato Oola the Pallisa Acting Chief Administrative Officer to instruct Emmanuel Kirya the district internal auditor to expedite the audit report which is said to have unveiled that Nicholas Opurusi town clerk of Kamuge 29,200,000/-, David Malinga of Opwateta 29.200,000/-,Jugu Mungole 16,800,000/-,Moses Olupot of Chelekura 16,800,000/-, Juliet Odelle of Kasodo 15,300,000/-, Ambrose Orone of Obutet 15,200,000/- and Charles Omoding of Gogonyo 16,200,000.

According to one official attached to finance department who pleaded for anonymity, some of the alleged officers have secretly started paying money to the district general collection account
