CHAIRPERSONS LC1 AND II RECEIVE BICYCLES IN KITGUM

Councilors happy and ready to work after receiving bicycles

Kitgum district local council one and two chairpersons received bicycles provided by the Government of Uganda on Thursday 15th September, 2022 at the Kitgum district headquarters.

The bicycle distribution which was officiated by Kitgum district woman MP Hon Aber Lillian which saw 716 bicycles distributed to all the chairpersons at village and parish levels receiving a bicycle each meant to help them in monitoring government projects and programs.

Present during the official distribution were Hon Arwai Christopher Obol, Kitgum district LCV Chairperson, Chief Adminstrative Officer Olaro Emmanuel Eugene and Resident District Commissioner Ebil Jimmy Ssegawa among others.

Mr. Ebil whom the office was handed over to on Wednesday 14th September, 2022 by Komakech William the former RDC called upon all the chairperson to coordinate and make sure the government projects is implemented

He said the bicycles given is not just for personal business but also to make sure government projects reach the entire community and all this needs the effort of the chairpersons.

Arwai Christopher, chairperson LC5 kitgum district thanked  all chairpersons from villages and parishes for turning up in big numbers as they were handed over there promised bicycles by the government.

Bicycles from the Min. of Local Government

The distribution of the bicycles is under the Ministry of Local Government in a bid to strengthen the capacities of the local leaders in mobilisation andmonitoring of the government projects being administered in their areas of jurisdiction.
